Legal Requirments

• You must be over 18 years of age and not already married!
• Whether you are Australian or not, you will need to show me your birth certificate or for International visitors a current passport will do in some cases.
• Very important! The Notice of Intended Marriage (application to marry) This is the first and important legal step and must be filled out and in my hands at least one month and one day before your intended date to marry. There are some exceptions.
• You will also need to show me your Divorce papers, if relevant.
• $100AUS deposit is made with the completion on the Notice of Intention to Marry (NIOM) with full payment made 1 week prior to your wedding day.

Then if you want me to marry you…

• We can discuss what is included in the fee.
• Number of guests and venue if planned.
• Set a date, place and time for our 1st meeting in person to discuss your day in more detail or by email if this is not possible at this stage.
• We can talk about any special circumstances ie children to include in the ceremony, special overseas guests etc
• We can get to know each other a little better.
• Tell me a little about you both, your stories of how you met, the proposal etc and what’s important to you both on your wedding day
• Tell me any ideas or dreams you already have for your special day and begin designing your wedding ceremony
• Discuss and begin Legal procedures
• Establish what is most important to you both and capture that for the theme on your wedding day
